Companion Planting
Companion planting is a powerful tool in the garden based on observations that many species of garden plants seem to benefit from having specific other species nearby. We notice their enhanced growth, health, and production when paired with these “companions.” The converse is also true, however: Our garden plants seem to be impaired by certain plants, their seeming “adversaries.” In short, our garden plants seem to “like” some other species and benefit from their presence and “dislike” others and suffer from their proximity.
